Winter ‘26 Interns

Our winter Interns play a vital role in advancing RTT’s mission by supporting congressional advocacy, local advocacy, fundraising, and social media initiatives. Their strong commitment to nuclear justice, combined with their meaningful contributions, helps ensure that RTT’s operational needs are met throughout the winter term.

Alex reifel

Alex is a sophomore at NYU majoring in economics and minoring in data science. He is interested in data analytics and decision-making. In his free time, he likes to travel or read sci-fi books.

Anaïs Abuzar

Anaïs Abuzar is an Indo-French sophomore at New York University studying International Relations on a pre-law track. She plans to pursue advanced studies in international law and is particularly interested in diplomacy, with a focus on advancing peace, security, and global justice through multilateral cooperation.

Anaïs brings experience from several activism-focused internships, where she has contributed to research, advocacy, and youth-led initiatives addressing international and social justice issues. She has a strong regional interest in South Asian politics and is especially focused on the legal and diplomatic dimensions of peace, security, and nuclear disarmament. Through her work with the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, she is eager to apply her skills and academic background to support research and educational initiatives that contribute to global peace, justice, and informed nuclear policy

Ishani Konar

Ishani Konar is a sophomore at New York University pursuing a degree in Politics on the pre-law track. She is passionate about public interest law and government advocacy, and is interested in how policy research connects to community needs both within and beyond university spaces. 

As a Legislative Intern in the New York State Assembly and with the New York City Council, Ishani has supported constituent services and legislative research, gaining firsthand insight into how local institutions respond to civic pressure. She is also a researcher at NYU Tandon, where she analyzes student governance and political discourse, and the founder of a youth-led global podcast that examines questions of power and responsibility. 

Jaylin Galvan

Jaylin Galvan (she/her) is an undergraduate student at New York University studying Politics, with a strong interest in legal systems. As of recently, she has worked in public-sector and policy-focused roles, including with the Office of the New York State Attorney General and the U.S. Senate, where she supported casework, policy research, and constituent engagement. Her experience also includes research and proposal evaluation through NASA’s Proposal Writing and Evaluation Experience and independent research on governance and outer space commercialization through NYU’s Summer Undergraduate Research Incubator.

Katie Lee

Katie Lee is a Politics major at NYU, minoring in Marketing at Stern, with a passion for content creation and brainstorming fresh, engaging ideas. She loves to combine creativity with strategy to bring ideas to life. She is excited to be working on social media.

Adam

Adam is a Politics major at New York University with a focus on policy advocacy related to city government and institutional reform. His academic and leadership efforts center on advancing equitable public policy and strengthening democratic participation at the local level.

Shuang Pierre

Shuang Pierre-St Surin is a Politics major at NYU, double-minoring in Public Policy and Medical Humanities, and pursuing a pre-law path with a deep interest in the intersection of law, health policy, and governance. She is driven by a commitment to people-centered, justice-oriented solutions that are grounded in both empathy and evidence. Her studies and work examine how care, ethics, and policy influence access, dignity, and accountability within institutions. Shuang’s key areas of interest include health law and policy reform, public interest and legislative affairs, research and policy analysis, and ethical governance. She is particularly focused on understanding how ideas become action and how interdisciplinary approaches can drive meaningful, lasting reform.

Gabrielle

Gabrielle is a sophomore at New York University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies and Political Science. She is particularly passionate about understanding the intersection of these two fields.

She is currently a co-chair for NYU’s Program Board, where she plans and hosts university-wide lecture events. Additionally, in 2025, Gabrielle was selected as a member of the Gallatin Dean’s Honor Society, where she engaged in a year-long study of Andalusia (Islamic Spain).

Gabrielle hopes that this knowledge and experience will inform her path to law school and beyond.
