Why We Need You

Nuclear weapons have left devastating impacts on communities around the world, from the Pacific Islands to Kazakhstan. At the Nuclear Age Peace and Reverse the Trend (RTT), we are committed to raising awareness and fostering action to address the legacy of nuclear weapons. Now, in partnership with frontline communities, and global allies, we are launching a collaborative campaign to push for nuclear justice. As States work towards establishing an International Trust Fund under the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) and with the recent UN General Assembly resolution on nuclear legacy, momentum is building—and we need your help.

Why Should You Join? *

By joining RTT’s Nuclear Justice Campaign, you’ll be part of a global movement advocating for those whose lives have been devastated by nuclear weapons. This campaign is more than just raising awareness—it’s about giving survivors a platform, amplifying their stories, and pushing for real change. Your voice and your actions can help shape international efforts to address the long-term effects of nuclear weapons and ensure that justice is served for impacted communities.

Whether you're passionate about environmental justice, human rights, or international policy, this campaign is an opportunity to make a tangible impact. By volunteering, you can play a crucial role in:

  • Supporting the establishment of an International Trust Fund to aid nuclear-impacted communities

  • Mobilizing international attention on the stories of survivors through media and storytelling

  • Helping push policy initiatives that hold nuclear states accountable for their actions

We are seeking passionate youth volunteers—whether you’re in high school, university, or a young adult—who are eager to contribute to the cause of nuclear justice. No prior experience is needed, just a strong commitment to making a difference. We welcome volunteers from all around the world, but especially encourage youth from the Pacific Islands and other regions directly impacted by nuclear testing to join us. Your voice is essential in shaping a future free from nuclear harm and ensuring justice for those affected.

What Roles Can You Take On?

  • Help plan and execute campaigns that raise awareness about nuclear justice issues. You'll be involved in organizing events, coordinating with local and international stakeholders, and reaching out to communities affected by nuclear testing.

  • Work on policy advocacy about the need to support the proposed international trust fund on victim assistance and environmental remediartion. You’ll assist in researching, drafting policy recommendations, and advocating for stronger nuclear disarmament and compensation measures.

  • Amplify the message of nuclear justice through social media platforms and public relations. You will create engaging content, including infographics, videos, and stories of survivors, while managing RTT’s social media presence to ensure our message reaches a global audience.

  • Assist in planning hybrid events aimed at engaging stakeholders from governments, NGOs, and impacted communities. Help ensure the voices of nuclear survivors are heard on international platforms through panels, speeches, and multimedia presentations.

  • Work directly with communities affected by nuclear weapons and support collaboration between different regional chapters, including RTT’s Pacific Chapter. Help amplify the voices of these communities and provide them with platforms to share their stories with the world.
